History

Founded in 1969, Automatic Systems has never stopped increasing its range of equipment and extending its geographical reach to better meet customer demand.

 

 

1969:

Automatic Systems created in Brussels.
Deployment of the first rising parking lot barriers at the Innovation car park and car park 44 in Brussels.

1971:

First export of one hundred rising barriers for Frankfurt International Airport in Germany.

1974:

Automatic Systems establishes a presence in France by opening a commercial and technical subsidiary in Paris.

1983:

Automatic Systems wins a contract to equip 18 stations of the Manila metro system with dual passage turnstiles.

1984:

Supply of 323 turnstiles to equip 12 stations on the Paris East line of the SNCF (French national railway).

1986:

Opening of two new subsidiaries in Montréal, Canada and Barcelona, Spain.

1989:

Automatic Systems supplies over 300 PNG-type automatic gates for the third metro line in Milan.

1990:

Supply of equipment for the Summer Olympic Games in Barcelona, the Disneyland Paris amusement park, and the Eurostar stations.

1994:

Opening of a subsidiary in the United Kingdom and supply of equipment for toll highways in China, Mexico and Chile.

1995:

Automatic Systems signs several major public transportation contracts for subway systems in Madrid, San Francisco, Barcelona, Kuala Lumpur, Ankara and Toronto.

1998:

Buyback of the barriers division of ABB (Asea Brown Boveri).

1999:

Automatic Systems equips the metro systems of Singapore and Buenos Aires and the system of South West Trains in London.

2000:

Supply of pedestrian access control equipment for RENFE (Spanish Rail Services), the light rail network in Tunis and the KTM Berhad in Kuala Lumpur.

2001:

The PNG 38X is granted UL approval and is manufactured in Montréal.

2002:

Automatic Systems joins the IER Group, a leader in the production of equipment for major transportation systems and terminals, self-service terminals and boarding control systems.

2003:

Automatic Systems wins the contract to supply the Boston subway with 700 barriers.

2004:

The Port of Vancouver, Canada, is equipped with a rising fence barrier to reinforce maritime safety (ISPS Code).
Automatic Systems earns a number of contracts in public transportation with the Lyon Metro, the SNCF, and the RENFE.

2005:

Innovation in the field of air transportation with the delivery of automated gates for boarding (QBG) and border crossing (SNG).

2006:

Commercial launch of a new generation of products: the BL229 barrier and the SmartLane range of gates (Europe).

2007:

Automatic Systems signs a standing contract to equip fifty stations of the Stockholm metro system.

2008:

Automatic Systems wins the Major Walloon Export Prize.
Delivery of the 1000th automatic gate to SNCF.

2009:

Signing of the contract to supply gates for the STIB (Brussels metro system).
